Achu Normad Speaks!
“Sometime in the Fall of 2014, I had just arrive Lexington Kentucky, United States from Cameroon. I went into a Music Store and was playing the guitars on display there. The shop owner Jesse Taylor heard me playing guitar in a very different style from the norm around here and he was like “I know the one guy who can play with you”. He then got me the number of a very talented guy, Dave Farris from Versailles Kentucky. I met with Dave sometime in January 2015 in a very harsh winter (my first) and started experimenting with blending Cameroonian Rhythms of makossa and Bikutsi with Cuban Jazz and soulful singing in David’s garage. We went on to play this unique style in bars, restaurants and Local Festivals in Lexington KY. Today, about 2 years later, the resulting blend is ready and served in my debut Album Alieh of Afro-Cuban jazz and world Music genre. Have fun!”
